2012 – you were some year
Summarising a year is a pretty impossible task. This year has felt long but fast, brilliant but hard. Ups and downs – swings and roundabouts, you know. I feel like I have come so very far, but have still so much to do – to see, to change, to make, to achieve. That’s what 2013 is for, right? Here is a round-up of what I got up to in 2012…
I answered my cats questions, received an amazing parcel from Nicky, beautiful flowers from Trout, tried the sloe-gin that we made and waited for Trout to get back from Japan.
I made the best breakfast oats ever, put together a Valentine’s feast for Trout and received flowers from Bob Vance, Vance Refrigeration.
We celebrated our 10 year anniversary (♥), Laia came to visit and we enjoyed the sunshine.
I started rounding up my days in photographs, which is such a nice way to appreciate life. We made barbecued seitan ‘ribs’ and jalapeno poppers, ate amazing Mexican food and chocolate-peanut butter-pretzel things with friends (!!!).
I finally got my hands on a copy of Chickpea Magazine and saw my first printed article, on an actual page, in an actual magazine. We met our new niece, Sophia! We held a Eurovision Party, enjoyed the sunshine, I enjoyed a day of crafting, tried Vegg and had a go at yoga, thanks to Mel!
I tried my first socca, had a lovely barbeque on the beach and spent the day in hospital.
Hmm. What did I do in September….
I put together a super sparkly edition of Wednesday Wishes, I spent some long overdue time with my city, visited Laia in Barcelona, ate scrambled tofu, Pad Thai and cupcakes, and spent time with the sea and an amazing friend.
I spent time with a lovely magazine, enjoyed watching the sunrise, made Maple Spice’s faux turkey deli slices, spent time with my polaroid camera, and enjoyed a lovely Christmas with family.
I also met some fantastic bloggers, started working with some great brands, had a bit of an up-and-down year in terms of work but am keeping my fingers crossed that 2013 will bring new opportunities, exciting prospects and some challenges. It’s quite scary going into the new year with uncertainty, but I think that’s better than staying stale and going through life being comfortable.
How was your 2012? I hope it was lovely!
