Chutneys & Jams
Christmas is the perfect time to indulge in jams, chutneys and pickles. Whether you’re buying them as presents, receiving special gifts or treating yourself – there’s something so special about a beautiful jar filled with delicious flavours – and even better if it’s finished with a hand-made label.
This year we’ve been lucky enough to receive a chutney and a piccalilli (Trout’s favourite!) from Harrods! I can’t wait to dive into these.

We treated ourselves to these dips from Infinity – I’ve tried the artichoke dip which is really subtle, and you can really taste the artichoke flavour.

I suppose jams and chutneys are great because they are so versatile, and pretty much everyone likes them from time to time. They last for months in the fridge (as long as you’re careful with toast crumbs!), jam brightens up a bowl of oats and chutneys are great spread on a fresh piece of bread.
Have you bought jams or chutneys as gifts, or do you love to receive them?

YES! I love Chutney, one of my patients made me some back in the Autumn and it was the best present ever!
Aww it’s such a sweet gift to receive!
I never used to bother with condiments so didn’t like receiving them much, but I have seen the light! Stumbled upon a Christmas fair in my building at work a couple weeks ago which had a stall with pickles and chutneys and I just spontaneously bought some because they were just gorgeous! I can give you the company’s website if you like, such easy and useful vegan-friendly gifts for people!
Ooh yes please! I love finding brilliant chutneys at markets x
Well I have to admit I was a bit disappointed when I took her card and went onto the website, maybe it’s just poorly designed but it doesn’t have the feel of one-lady-hand-making-her-traditional-products that the stand had… I can’t quite figure it out! Still, they have some really nice things: http://www.simplybritishgifts.co.uk/index.asp
I got a couple of spiced apple chutneys, and a fiery garlic pickle, for £10 x
Thanks for linking! I must admit the cover photos are making me a bit dizzy, haha. Garlic pickle sounds amazing! x
